The work of Prof. dr. Shefik Osman promoted at Shkodra University

The work of Prof. dr. Shefik Osman was promoted at Shkodra University on 18th November 2015. This activity took place at the conference room of the Rectorate, by the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi". The promoted works were the following: "The prominent figures of Education and Pedagogy", "Selected lectures and writings", "Problems of elementary education over the years", "Contribution to the history of Albanian philately" etc.
The event was organized by the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi", the Academy of Educational Sciences in Tirana and the Publishing House "Filaret".

Prof. dr. Shefik Osman is known as a historian of education, lecturer and didache. He has the title "Teacher of Merit". The professor was born in Shkodra, where he attended the classical gymnasium and he was graduated in Russian language at the Faculty of History and Philology (1960). He worked as a teacher and director in pedagogical schools in Shkodra, Peshkopi and Tirana as well as an inspector in the Ministry of Education and a scientific worker at the Institute of Pedagogical Studies.

His most well known works are: "Problems of teaching" (1982), "Dictionary of pedagogy" (1983), "A missionary in the service of the nation" (1996), "Pjeter Bogdani" (Skopje, 1994, Tirana, 1996), "Social-pedagogical heritage" (Pristina, 1997), "J. H. Pestalozzi and primary education "(1997)," Ethno-pedagogical reflections "(1999), etc. Under his direction, there have been prepared nine scientific-pedagogical textbooks for Albanian schools in Diaspora which were published in Pristina and Germany. He is also a co-author of a series of educational works
