Students of Shkodra University donate blood for people who suffer from thalassaemia.

Albanian Red Cross (Shkodra branch) in cooperation with Shkodra University “Luigj Gurakuqi organized a blood donation session on 02.12.2014 at the premises of the Rectorate. In this human donation event, our students were very active. Mrs. Vera Gjinaj, lecturer of Nursing Department who is also the project coordinator for Shkodra Red Cross said: “We organized such events during all year at our university”. This initiative was preceded by an awareness campaign addressed to the students, professors and the administrative staff of Shkodra University. Before donating the blood all the volunteers underwent to a medical examination and those who had healthy results could donate it. In this framework, the donor received a full package of analyzes processed in the best laboratories in the city. This human donation session conveyed the message: “Who gives blood, saves a life”.
