The Faculty of Economy organizes the workshop titled "Challenges of Regional Development 4"

The Faculty of Economy organized the workshop titled: "Challenges of Regional Development 4". The best theses of master students were presented in this meeting.
The workshop was held on 21.12. 2015, at the conference room A3 by the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi".
This event was opened by the lecturer Mrs. Nevila Kiri who presented the aims of the workshop and the jury. The Dean of the Faculty of Economy, Prof. dr. Arjeta Troshani, among other things said that that workshop had already become traditional, showing the collaboration of the Faculty of Economics with major institutional stakeholders and the business world.
The President of the Regional Council, Ms. Greta Bardeli, thanked the Faculty of Economy for the invitation and presented the regional development plans for Shkodra.
Prof. as. dr Albana Boriçi, the Head of the department of Business Administration, praised this activity which is carried out every year and brought a special thanks to Prof. as. dr. Mirjeta Beqiri, a former professor of the Faculty of Economics, who is currently teaching at Gonzaga University in Washington. Mrs. Mirjeta Beqiri has offered a financial contribution to three students who were awarded the first three prices.
Prof.as. dr. Blerat Dragusha, the Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting, made an assessment of the presented topics and congratulated the students.
Prof. as. dr. Brilanda Bushati, the Head of the Department of Tourism, also expressed her satisfaction for the participation in the event.
The Head of Culture and Publications Office, Dr. Gezim Puka wished a successful route to the first number of the Bulletin of Economic Sciences as a scientific forum of the Economic Faculty.
It is the fourth time that the Faculty of Economy organizes the workshop titled: "Challenges of regional development". The primary purpose of this activity is to promote study programs, especially the professional and scientific master students. The workshop parallely aims to further expand the cooperation among the Faculty, businesses operating in the region of Shkodra and local government.
The jury of the workshop was composed as following::
Mr. Arben Haveri, Director of Societe Generale Bank Shkodra;
Mr. Gjergj Liqejza, President of "Albania Trikot" Company;
Mr. Shpëtim Quku, Director of Shkodra Municipality Committee;
Mrs. Nevila Burrja, Director of NCB Bank, Shkodra branch;
Mr. Renato Lumçi, Manager of Colosseo Hotel.
The first prize went to Kristjana Prronaj with the master thesis titled: "Refund of VAT and its effects on liquidity of the business."
Brigena Burgaj was awarded with the second prize with the master thesis titled "Fiscal incentives and the attraction of the investors. Comparative overview for the region ".
Third prize went to Lediona Gusija with the master thesis titled: "Reduce, reuse, recycle. (Recycling behaviour in Shkodra)".
