The ceremony of the new academic year 2014-2015 was organised on 20.10.2014. In this framework, six faculties of our university held their respective official ceremony. The Deans expressed their best wishes to students, academic and non-academic staff for a successful year.
The University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi" is an integral part of the public higher education in our country and it offers three study cycles of study, both full time and part time. This academic year, 7800 students are attending Bachelor program of study, full-time system. 780 students are attending Master of Science and 570 Professional Master. 1400 students are attending bachelor programs of studies, part-time system and 226 students are attending Professional Master Program of study. 13 students are under graduating in the third cycle of studies, PhD studies in Albanian language.
The academic staff of Shkodra University is composed of 14 Prof. dr, 30 associate professors, 7 assistant professors, 58 PhD and 49 lecturers who are attending PhD studies. This academic staffs is also composed of a considerable number of part-time professors with relevant qualifications. Scientific opinion, different studies and articles prepared by University staff are published in the four scientific journal series called "Scientific Bulletin" as well as in many national and international scientific conferences organized by our university or other universities at national or international level.
University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi" has an excellent cooperation with many international universities and institutions and it is participating in several projects in the framework of European Union programs.
5 buildings, which compose the University campus, are available to the teaching process. Over the years this University has invested continuously in order to improve the conditions of the teaching. The maintenance, reconstruction, construction of buildings and auditoriums has been constantly our focus. Special attention is also paid to the renovation of laboratory material base used in teaching and research.
