The 3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON: "RESEARCH AND EDUCATION – CHALLENGES TOWARDS THE FUTURE” ICRAE 2015, was held on October 23-24, 2015 in Shkodra, Albania.

The organizers of this important scientific event were: The Faculty of Social Sciences & the Faculty of Education -University of Shkodra “Luigj Gurakuqi”, Albania and the University Education for Business and Technology, Kosovo, in partnership with many public/ non public universities from Albania, Europe and the USA.
ICRAE 2015 is an international event and hosted a large number of scientists, researchers, experts who discussed and shared the latest knowledge in different fields of sciences. Furthermore the conference strengthened the co-operation between relevant universities, institutions and organizations and built networks between colleagues, scientists and friends during this scientific activity.
This Multidisciplinary Conference was realized on the following areas: Albanology, Arts, Architecture, Culture, Civil Engineering and Spatial Planning, Computer Science and Engineering, Education, Higher Education, ICT, Media & Communication, Management, Business and Economy, Philology, Sports & Recreation, Social Sciences, Research.
The opening plenary session of the conference was held at the Conference Hall at the Shkodra University.
The conference was moderated by Mr. Erard Çurçija, the Head of the Development and International Relations Office at Shkodra University.
The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Shkodra University "Luigj Gurakuqi" Prof.as.dr. Mimoza Priku welcomed the attendees and praised the wide participation and qualitative papers.
In his speech, Prof. as. dr. Fatmir Vadahi, Vice- Rector of the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi", said: "Our University is one of the oldest universities in Albania, and it is one of the first institutions of higher education which has started its journey towards European models. We express our estimation for the organizers of this event. I really appreciate the great scientific work that will be presented by professors, scholars, researchers and the academic staff of different universities in the world. We hope that the papers that you will present today will be a good source of information and will serve not only to our students but also to my colleagues. The University of Shkodra passed important events and stages in the decades of its history. In recent years, our institution has been very active in promoting, organizing and participating in such conferences".
The following personalities had their greetings for the conference: Ms. Voltana Adam, Mayor of Shkodra Municipality; Prof. dr. Darko Petkovic, from the University of Zenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Prof. dr. Robert McCloud, professor of computer science at Sacre Heart University, Fairfield, (USA); Prof. dr. Edmond Hajziri, Rector of the University for Business and Technology in Kosovo; Prof. dr. Adriana Galvani from the Department of Economics at the Libera University Mediterranea (Italy).
Dr. Margaret Fraser by the Department of Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver (USA) presented the renewal of the cooperation agreement between the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi" and Metropolitan State University of Denver (USA).
The conference continued work in several parallel sessions.
Saturday was dedicated to the conclusions of the ICRA 2015 conference and in the same day there were organised different visits to the museum and other historical places of Shkodra city.
