A meeting with the writer and the professor of the literature Prof.dr. Stefan Çapaliku was organised in the framework of the activities that were organised by the University Library. This activity was organised in "Walter Höflechner" conference room on April 23, 2015.
The meeting was opened by the Director of the University Library, Ms. Alida Luka. Ms. Olympia Kakarriqi, a library worker, made a brief presentation of activities and literary work of the writer Stefan Capaliku.
Mr. Çapaliku has a great literary activity. Among the other we can mention: “Asgjë më shumë se kaq s’ka ndodhë” (Poetry, 1993), “Kohë e ndalun”, (Poetry, 1994), “Kronikë në lindje” (Roman, 1996), “Fjalë për fjalë” (Poetry and proze, 2000), “Tregime për Anën” (Stories, 2002), “Pesë drama dhe një korn anglez” (2003), “Allegretto Albania dhe drama të tjera” (2006), “Pesë komedi të përgjakshme”.
The writer has also done many studies which we can mention: “Fishta satirik” (1995), “Prijës për gjeografinë dhe sociologjinë e letërsisë shqiptare” (1997), “Letërsia e interpretuar” (1998), “Estetika moderne” (2004), “I vetëm në Evropë dhe shkrime të tjera për kulturën”(2006), “Libri i vogël i dramatikës”(2011), ect.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. dr. Stefan Çapaliku said that he had worked as a lecturer at the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi" and he showed his affection about that University. He focused on his powerful connections with "Migjeni" theatre.
He said: "I have the great pleasure to communicate with you in these days, devoted to the book. I came across a small block with titles and dates of the books that I have read. In these notes there were the authors but there were no names of the translators. I wish to dedicate the today's lecture titled: "Përvujtnia (Humility)" to two translators, Mr. Pashko Gjeçi and Mr. Gjon Shllaku ". Further he emphasized the etymology of the word "humility", making a stroll in intellectual and philosophical opinion about this concept. For the participants he showed two humble stories of the translators´ lives. These two translators brought many masterpieces in Albanian languages.
This literary event was attended with interest by professors and students and they had discussions, questions and answers about the translation of the literary work.
