German Summer School organised at Shkodra University

The German summer school titled "Cross-border cooperation among Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo for a joint development towards the European integration" was opened at Shkodra University "Luigj Gurakuqi" on August 25th, 2014. This collaboration includes the field of environment, tourism, socio - economic and other fields of mutual interest.
German Summer School was opened for the third time at our University and will be attended by students for two weeks. There will be organised lectures, seminars, workshops and tourist excursions in the Alps on both sides of the border. This event was made possible thanks to the partnership of German Academy for International Cooperation, University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi", University of Tirana, University of Bamberg (Germany) and the German Embassy in Tirana.
Participants of this school will be German students of different programs of study. There will also be students of Shkodra University who are attending their studies in some branches of our university.
In this framework, the opening ceremony took place at the conference room of the Scientific Library of Shkodra University. Prof. dr. Dhimitër Doka from the University of Tirana explained the goals of this summer school.
Prof. as. dr. Fatmir Vadahi, Pro-Rector of Shkodra University, greeted the participants and stressed out the beneficial impact that this summer school would have for both German and Albanian students. This event was also welcomed by Mrs. Christiane Wolters, Cultural Attaché at German Embassy of Tirana.
Prof. dr. Mahir Hoti made a brief introduction of the University of Shkodra. He congratulated and thanked Dr. Matthias Bicker, lecturer at the University of Bamberg (Germany), and Prof. as.dr. Edlira Bushati, the Head of German Studies Department at Shkodra University.
The aim of this school is to study the cross-border area among our countries and look further development opportunities in the region. All this will serve to the students in the preparation of their subjects.
