On 22 December 2017, the Faculty of Economics organized the sixth workshop titled: "Regional Development Challenges", where the 8 best topics were presented by students graduated in the Master's program of study of this faculty during the academic year 2016 - 2017. The purpose of this activity was to promote the scientific work of the students of the Faculty of Economics in front of a broader audience in order to reflect the potential contribution that this faculty can give to the economic development of Shkodra Region. This workshop also aimed to further expand the cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Local Government bodies, community and NGOs operating in Shkodra Region.
In his greeting speech, the Rector of Shkodra University "Luigj Gurakuqi", Prof. dr. Adem Bekteshi, praised the achievements of the Faculty of Economics. He expressed enthusiasm about the experience of developing this workshop and highlighted and promoted the scientific work of students. He also emphasized that that experience should be extended to other faculties of the university.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. as. dr. Blerta Dragusha, in her greeting speech, emphasized the work of the staff and students of this faculty in both terms, teaching process and scientific work as well as in organizing a series of activities during the academic year 2016-2017.
In this activity there were present representatives of the Shkodra Municipality, representatives of different businesses and NGOs of the Region too. The jury of was composed by professionals from different fields and representatives of the aforementioned actors, namely:

The event was sponsored by the ABC Foundation, ProCredit Bank and the GO2 Association, whose support was very important in successfully carrying out the activity and awarding the winners with the respective prizes.
The jury awarded the first prize to the student Ilirjana Gjergji with the work titled: “Portfolio Model of Albanian Economy" Al-Index 100 ". The the second prize went to Amela Malaj with her work titled: “Development of the Dark Tourism: the case of Shkodra District "and the third prize went to student Sonila Hasaj with the work titled: "Determinant factors of the use of Euro by individuals in Shkodra"
