The International Scientific Conference: "The harmonization of environmental study and teaching with sustainable policies."

The Faculty of Natural Sciences of Shkodra University "Luigj Gurakuqi" in cooperation with the Balkan Environmental Association, B.EN.A organized the third international scientific conference titled: "Research and education in the natural sciences "focused on the theme:" Harmonisation of environmental study and teaching with sustainable policies" on 6-8 November 2015.
The plenary session was held at the conference room (A3) at Shkodra University Rectorate on November 6, 2015.
This session was opened by the Dean of Natural Sciences, Prof. dr. Adem Bekteshi who said: "It is a great pleasure and honour for the University of Shkodra, especially for the Faculty of Natural Sciences, to host and contribute to the development of the third International Scientific Conference titled: "The harmonization of environmental study and teaching with sustainable policies". In this conference there are warmly welcomed all the scientists, PhD students and students from Albania and other countries, which will participate in this important event. We hope that the conference will create a tradition of our university. Achievements in the natural sciences, research and didactics are an important experience not only for the University of Shkodra, but to other universities in Albania and region. The experience gained by professionals in these fields is a good example for our students in order to develop best practices in their studies. "
Rector of Shkodra University, Prof. dr. Artan Haxhi, welcomed the conference. He said: "The cooperation between researchers from different fields of study and promotion of their studies and latest achievements of science will be a crucial factor in the sustainable development. It is time to develop the same level of knowledge in various disciplines and contribute to global stability. This is the century of globalization and rapid development of the knowledge society ".
On behalf of the Balkan Environmental Association (B.EN.A), Prof. dr. Fokion Vosniakos expressed his satisfaction and pride for participating in the conference that has been taking place for the third year. He said: "These conferences are becoming a tradition. I am pleased to be here today as the president of B.EN.A. It is important to create a strategy for addressing transboundary environmental issues. Ongoing studies are important for reducing environmental pollution. "
Mr. Vosniakos awarded to the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Prof. dr. Adem Bekteshi, a recognition title of the Balkan Environmental title Association, B.EN.A for his continuous contribution in organizing this international scientific conference.
Conference was also welcomed by the Mayor of Shkodra region, Mrs. Voltana Ademi, who welcomed the participants at the conference and presented some projects that the Municipality is implementing. She proposed collaboration in the framework of these projects in order to manage the information with students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. She concluded: "It is important to learn while working. We can do many good things together for Shkodra".

The conference brought together researchers and professors of the natural sciences to discuss the methodology of teaching natural sciences at all levels of education and teaching with environmentally sustainable policies.
The main sessions of the conference discussed issues related to research in natural sciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics; ecology of air, soil and water; environmental management; didactics of science at school; environmental health and safety, etc.
Presentations at the conference were made by papers and posters.
