Civil Society Scholar Awards (CSSA) by Open Society Foundations: http://www.
The grant is aimed to enable doctoral students and university faculty to “access resources that enrich socially engaged research and critical scholarship in their home country or region” and supports “activities such as fieldwork (data collection); research visits to libraries, archives, or universities; course/curriculum development; and international collaborations leading to a peer-reviewed publication.” Although the grant application deadline is only a week away, perhaps it can be still used, or at least kept in mind for the future.
For example, it could be potentially used for example to help cover at least part of the costs for attending CEEMAN’s IMTA-International Management Teachers Academy, which is an excellent program for curriculum and teaching skills development. Although the grant announcement specifies that they do not support “tuition/academic fees if the activity is not for the first year of a doctoral program”, perhaps at least travel, accommodation and subsistence costs could be included. IMTA helps develop skills, methodologies and materials that can be applied to a variety of disciplines, including public administration. It has made a big impact on many teaching careers, quality of educational programs, and institutional development of higher education institutions – including those from non-managerial disciplines. In addition, the library of IEDC-Bled School of Management (where IMTA takes place) could be a valuable resource for research, which is another area supported by the grant.
EU+ - Staff Mobility for Teaching and Training can be used for “teaching and non-teaching staff employed in a higher education institution” for participation in training programs, and can be used to finance participation in IMTAand/or other CEEMAN training programs and conferences: http://ec.europa.eu/education/
