Faculty of Economics started activities on the 20th anniversary of its creation with the workshop titled "Challenges of Regional Development 2”.

The Faculty of Economics of Shkodra University " Luigj Gurakuqi " organised this week a series of activities within the framework of the 20th anniversary of its establishment . This morning there was organized the workshop titled “Challenges of Regional Development 2". This activity took place at the conference hall of the Rectorate. During this workshop there were presented diplomas theses of the best students of this Faculty.

The lecturer of Tourism department, Romina Dhora, said in her speech: “The aim of this workshop is to promote the programs of Master of Science offered at the Faculty of Economics. This is the first generation of graduated students that has completed the studies in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance. Meanwhile today's workshop aims to further expand the cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and businesses operating in Shkodra region ".

The Pro- Rector, Prof.as.dr. Fatmir Vadahi welcomed this activity. In his speech he said: “It is a special day for all us because today we are celebrating the anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Economics, a faculty that has grown and strengthened in all aspects, both in quantitative and qualitative terms. Graduated students of this faculty can be found everywhere across the country, in both state and private sectors. Some are successful businessmen, others work in banks, others manage different economic sectors, etc. So on this day it is a great pleasure for me to welcome this event on behalf of the Rector of Shkodra University.

In her speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. dr. Arjeta Troshani noted that was the first event which opens a series of activities to celebrate the 20th jubilee anniversary of the Faculty. Through this workshop they would promote graduated students in Master of Science opened recently. She concluded: “Our mission is to put the spotlight on students who build and develop academic institution. Meanwhile another duty is to assist the economic development of the region".  

Prof. as. dr Brilanda Bushati (Head of Tourism Department), Dr. Blerta Dragusha (Head of Finance and Accounting Department), Dr. Albana Boriçi (Head of Business Administration Department), thanked the students for their work and their theses.  

The jury composed by: Prof. Ass. Mirjeta Beqiri , Mr. Artur Luka (Director of Tirana Bank, Shkodra Branch),  Mr. Arben Haveri (Director of Societe Generale Bank, Shkodër), Mr. Ndriçim Ciroka (Director of Albtelecom, Shkodër) and Mr. Elvis Çaushi (Director of ProCredit Bank, Shkodër) awarded the best ten works presented by MSc graduated students during the academic year 2012-2013.

The activity went on with the presentation of the topics of the workshop entitled "Challenges of Regional Development 2".
