Spectators of Shkodra city, students and professors of our university had the opportunity to attend Aristophanes´ comedy titled "Frogs". This comedy was performed by a group of students from different faculties of our University at "Migjeni” theatre on 27 and 28 May 2015.
It was an initiative of the Branch of Culture and Publishing of this University, with the support of the Rector, Prof. dr. Artan Artan Haxhi, and the Chancellor, Mr. Artan Kolnikaj. Part of this cooperation was "Migjeni" theatre too. A special thank goes to the director of this institution, Mr. Edmond Angoni and actress Merita Smaja.
After several months of preparation and daily commitment, this passionate group of students in drama made us reflect on the text of this comedy. The prominent researcher on ancient literature, Mr. Muzafer Xhaxhiu writes: "It is very rare to find in the world of literature an author like Aristophanes, whose work sounds so real today, 2.500 years ago.
This performance gave to the audience an aesthetic orientation. This student's performance was only intended to make the extraordinary writer of antiquity to speak about the present, but also to find "Aeschylus" or "Euripides" of our time and bring appropriate values in this period of crisis of multidimensional values.
