Faculty of Economics of Shkodra University organized the graduation ceremony at "Migjeni" theatre. Participants of this ceremony were not only students and professors of this university but also foreign lecturers and partners of the Economic Faculty.
The ceremony was opened Mrs. Elvisa Drishti, professor of Economic Faculty.
Vice - Rector of Shkodra University "Luigj Gurakuqi", Prof. as. dr. Fatmir Vadahi in his speech said: " On behalf of the Rector of Shkodra University I would like to congratulate you. It's a special day for all of us, especially for those who finished a cycle of study. I would like to greet all of you who have just been graduated and in the same time I wish your parents, who did the best for you, in order to be more prepared on the long road of life that awaits you. A special thank also goes to your professors, who shared with you their scientific and professional formation".
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. dr. Arjeta Troshani emphasized in her speech “Our Faculty awards today the first generation of graduates of Professional Master in three following programs; Business Administration, Finance-Banking and Cultural Heritage Management and Tourism. We hope in this way we support the economic development of the North Region of Albania with more qualified and more capable human resources for the job market. As you may know initiatives for application in Ministry of Science and Sport for these three professional master programs is supported by CHTMBAL TEMPUS project, under which teachers had the opportunity to be trained in Western universities and network project. It is so important to stress out that most students of professional master in tourism, were able to benefit from the teaching faculty staff of the University of Bologna, Chieti, Institute of Classical Archaeology in Tarragona, Spain, by taking the advantage of the best European expertise in the field of cultural tourism and the recognition of archaeological sites in Albania the outside it".
In her speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Nora Malaj said that she felt part of those achievements. She added: “Ministry of Education and Sports is trying to reform and standardize the higher education in order to have young graduates who compete in the labour market. I congratulate all the graduated students, professors and parents”.
Prof. Massimo Bianchi, professor of the University of Bologna and the main representative of Grant holder of CHTMBAL TEMPUS project (which is part of the Faculty of Economics since 2012) brought best greetings to the participants.
The Chief of the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Albana Boriçi stated: “I'm very proud for the achievements of our departments".
Prof.as.dr. Blerta Dragusha, Head of Finance and Accounting Department, noted that it was a special day for students but also a special moment for professors.
The Head of the Department of Tourism, Prof. as. dr. Brilanda Bushati, said: "The University is a cornerstone of your life. You come from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Shkodra but your formation is part of the other Western universities that are partners of our faculty, so you should be proud of this".
Prof. David Turner a representative of the Peace Corps working as a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Economics conveyed his thanks.
Prof. Mirjeta Beqiri former professor at this University, currently teaches at the University of Gonzales (USA), became part of the ceremony with the price titled "Sadetin & Mirjeta Beqiri Excellence Award" awarded to some students of excellence.
At the end of the event following distinguished students of this faculty shared their emotions: Jetemir Muja, Syriha Laja, Arlinda Hasan and Pawel Sapiecha.
In the academic year 2013-2014, 148 students were graduated in Bachelor program. For the first time in this Faculty there were graduated 57 students in the professional master and 67 Master of Science.
