XIVth week of Italian language. Promotion of the book titled: “Prometheus in Albania” by Mauro Geraci.

The book “Prometheus in Albania” was presented in the framework of “XIVth week of Italian language in the world" on 22 October in the presence of the author Mauro Geraci. This activity took place in the conference room of Shkodra University “ Luigj Gurakuqi”.
This event opened a long series of activities that will take place under the auspices of the Italian Embassy in Tirana, the Italian Culture Institute, Honorary Italian Consulate in Shkodra and Shkodra University "Luigj Gurakuqi".
The opening event's speech was held by the Honorary Consul of Italy in Shkodra, Mr. Vito Stigliani. He thanked all participants for their participation and wished prosperity for all activities that were going to be organized in the context of the "XIVth Week of Italian language in the world". The thematic of this week is: “Writing a new Europe, Italian publications, authors and lecturers in the digital area”.
Mr. Carmine di Giandomenico, lecturer of Italian language at Shkodra University presented the main events that would be held in Shkodra and Lezha.
Dr. Elinda Dibra, Head of Literature Department made a short analysis of the book written by the author Mauro Geraci.
Mr. Mauro Geraci, professor of cultural anthropology at the University of Messina, among other things said: “Prometheus in Albania" (Prometeo in Albania), printed by printing house "Rubbetino", is a literary and political journey in Balkan countries, such as Albania. After thanking the participants and organizers, the author stressed that anthropological searches are primarily associated with life experiences which are related to the authorial perspectives. Prof. Geraci pointed out that analyzing Albania drew the attention of literary phenomenon and publications either quantitatively or qualitatively. “This book discusses and analyzes the phenomenon of Albanian publications of historical transformations on post-communist Albania".
The writer Visar Zhiti in his impression on the book said: “It resembles that “Prometheus in Albania” has the sound of a trade book”. Mr. Zhiti stressed that this book has broken the academic rules. “In more than a hierarchy of values, there is a hierarchy of truths”. The meeting continued with different discussion among authors, lecturers and students.
