The Ministry of Education and Sports organized the final phase of the competition for the position of the Director of Shkodra Regional Educational Office

In the context of the public transparency and the right to information, the Ministry of Education and Sports organized the final phase of the competition for the position of the Director of Shkodra Regional Educational Office. This activity took place on November 25th, 2013 at Auditorium 3 by the Rectorate of Shkodra University.

During this event there were made public the names of candidates who had higher scores. In this way they succeeded to pass to the last stage of the competition for this position. This stage of the competition was open to the public. Mrs. Lindita Nikolla, Minister of Education and Sports, attended this meeting. There was a large participation of managers, teachers and education employees of Shkodra District. In her opening speech, Mrs. Lindita Nikolla noted the importance, transparency and competitiveness of this selection process. She also said: “Education of the next generation requires willingness so the winner of this competition will begin immediately to take his/responsibilities. We must do our best on behalf of our children's education. We should fully disassociate from the culture of nepotism and corruption. We will annually measure performance of each director of education, in order to have better schools".

The candidates presented programs and visions for the education in Shkodra region. They were as following: Afërdita Haka, Agron Metushi, Erjeta Laçej, Luçjana Dodani , Vlash Linadi.

Prof. dr. Fatbardh Sokoli, professor of Shkodra University "Luigj Gurakuqi ", on behalf of the jury (composed of eight specialists of the education field) declared the winner of the competition, Mrs. Erjeta Laçej.

At the conclusion of the event, the selected director of Shkodra Regional Educational Office, Mrs. Erjeta Laçej, promised high commitment to the realization of this important task.
