The Conference: "Italian book in Europe, but especially in Albania: Present and Prospects" organized on 29-30 October 2014.

The Conference titled: "Italian book in Europe, especially in Albania: The present and prospects" was organized on 29-30 October 2014. This activity took place at the University Scientific Library of Shkodra University. The organizers of this event were the lectors of the Italian Language Section at Shkodra University with the support of Italian Cultural Institute and Honorary Consulate in Shkodra. This event was moderated by the Italian language lecturer Prof. Carmine di Giandomenico at the Branch of Italian Studies at Shkodra University. During this Conference there was presented the book titled “Theatre” by Luigi Pirandello. It was a summarizing work translated for the first time in Albanian language by Amik Kasaruho. Prof.as.dr Alma Hafizi, professor of Shkodra University, referred her speech on this book.
On 29 October 2014 the activity started by the speech titled “Destiny of the book in digital age” made by Dr. Eliana Laçej, professor at Branch of Italian Studies at Shkodra University.. The Director of the Public Library “Marin Barleti”, Gjovalin Çuni, made his presentation titled: “The book in print and online at Marin Barleti Library”. Dr. Alva Dani, professor at Italian Studies branch of the Faculty of Foreign Languages had her speech titled:"In the labyrinths of time and the symbol: The name of the Rose". Dr. Lindita Kazazi, professor at Branch of Italian Studies of Shkodra University made her presentation titled: "Location, churches, rivers, mountains and different names of the old map of Northern Albania - Italian-language publications in Shkodra ". "Oriana Fallaci beyond the borders of Italy" was referred by Mrs. Karmen Lazri, lecturer of Italian Studies Branch at Shkodra University.
On 30 October 2014 the activity continued with other presentations from the Italian Institute of Culture. Dr. Luigi Nidito, LBN publishing house editor, Italian Chamber of Commerce in Albania had his speech titled: "Love for the Italian book".
Prof. dr. Klara Kodra, from Albanological Studies Center, Tirana had her presentation titled "Fidelity and freedom in translating the works of the Italian- Albanian language" The last speaker was Dr. Artan Draçini, director of Shkodra Art Gallery. He had his speech titled : "The Book of Italian art in Albania, Tradition and presence ".
